The Pit Stop Community Cafe was set up by Joycelyn Lee and Andrea Tan with three objectives:

#1 To Build

To build a platform for groups and individuals who want to give back to the society but have little to no knowledge on how to do so

#2 To Reach Out

To reach out to and assist marginalised communities through food and services with the ultimate aim of reintegration into society

#3 To Minimise

To minimise food waste through food rescue, redistribution & repurposing

what we do.

#1) Volunteerism

The Pit Stop offers individuals and groups the chance to serve through sponsorship and voluntarism in many ways and through various programs.

#2) Reach Out

It reaches out to marginalised communities through food, most notably its Pay-What-You-Can  dinner service, which runs six days a week (we’re closed on Tuesdays).

#3) Rescue and Redistribute

It works with other soup kitchens and food banks to rescue and redistribute food that would otherwise have gone to the landfill.

#4) Job Training

It offers on-the-job training as well as job placement for members of marginalised communities. Its latest program is the Culinary Arts Program for Underprivileged Youth

#5) Collaborate

It works with private and public organisations and companies to assist in providing food and other support services for needy and marginalised communities including training, job placement, counselling, etc in efforts to reintegrate those who have fallen through the cracks of society
